Description

Synopsis

The C/D Band Antenna is part of the AN/ALR-56M and AN/ALR-69 radar threat warning system used on F-16 aircraft. The ALR-56M and ALR-69 system allows proper situation awareness for the pilot in high threat air defense areas and activation of the correct electronic warfare systems to defeat the threat and allow mission completion. This requirement is for all labor and supplies required for the re-manufacture/repair of the antenna. A five-year requirements contract is anticipated for major overhaul to include a complete teardown into component parts and rework/replacement of antenna parts. Without a new repair services contract, the F-16 aircraft would experience MICAPs immediately, grounding aircraft and impacting aircraft availability to the extent that the F-16 would not be able to perform its intended mission. Therefore, this repair services contract for repair of this unique and highly specialized asset is required.
