This Sources Sought notice is being posted to satisfy the requirement of Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement 206.302-1(d). The Naval Air Systems Command Patuxent River (NAVAIRSYSCOM) intends to award a contract modification for fifty-one (51) Series 2 Upgrade Kits for the TACAN Beacon. Each kit will contain one (1) Remote Monitor Maintenance Control (RMMC) Series 2 Circuit Card, one (1) Low Power Amplifier (LPA) Series 2 Circuit Card, and four (4) High Power Amplifier (HPA) Series 2 Circuit Cards. These kits will replace the RMMC, LPA, and HPA Series 1 Circuit Card Assemblies. Thales is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the TACAN Beacon, and as such, is the only firm that can provide these supplies within the required timeframe. THIS IS NOT AN INVITATION FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented in FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, the Government will consider all responses received to this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government. No solicitation will be available for this procurement.
