RECEIPT OF BIDS: Separate sealed BIDS or Electronic Submittal using Sciquest for the
construction of 2018 Hillcrest Sewer Replacement will be received by Sam Kelly, City Engineer
at the City of Orem, Engineering Division, 56 North State, Orem, UT 84057, or opened
electronically on Sciquest until December 11, 2018 at 2:30 PM and then at said office publicly
opened and read aloud. The preferred method for submitting a bid is by using Sciquest at
purchasing.utah.gov (Select the search bar > select Current Bids > enter “Orem” >
BIDDING QUESTIONS – Use Sciquest to submit questions and download documents
relating to bid items, specifications, and other technical questions. You may reach the project
engineer, Zack Fisher, at (801) 229-7331. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on
December 3, 2018 at 2:00 PM.
OBTAINING CONTRACT DOCUMENTS: The CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may be obtained
November 26, 2018 on Sciquest under 2018 Hillcrest Sewer Replacement or at the City of
Orem, Engineering Division, Development Services Offices, 56 North State Street, Orem, UT
84057. There is no fee from the City to obtain the documents on Sciquest. There will be a $20
non-refundable fee for a copy of the plans and specifications. (An additional $5.00 service
charge will be assessed if the plans and specifications are to be mailed).
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The WORK includes the installation of approximately 347 linear
feet of 8” SDR35 PVC pipe, 2540 linear feet of 12” SDR35 PVC pipe; (11) 60” Ø sewer
manholes; 790 linear feet of 8” DI waterline, 2 fire hydrant assembly, and all restoration of any
damaged curb, gutter, sidewalk, and asphalt. The engineer’s estimate for the work is $660K to
SITE OF WORK: The site of the WORK is located at 1600 S (800 East to 740 East), 800 East
(1400 South to 1600 South), and 1400 South (800 East to 952 East).
