The objective of this effort is to design, modernize, integrate, and test six Guided Missile Test Sets (GMTSs). These GMTSs will use automated controls and primarily Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) components and equipment to allow life-cycle sustainment through the 309th Maintenance Support Group (MXSG) or another generic maintenance organization. The stands shall meet or exceed all current functional requirements IAW the Prime Item Development Specification (PIDS) and Software Requirements Specification (SRS) for the GMTS. The new stands shall have a minimum operating life, with periodic maintenance, of not less than 20 years.
Additional Background: The GMTS is a computer-controlled automatic test set. It can perform functional tests on the Minuteman Weapon System LGM-30F and LGM-30G missiles downstage and flight control units. Under control of the operator, the software program selects and routes various stimuli to a Unit Under Test (UUT). During overhaul, the MM boosters undergo a variety of continuity checks and signal analyses by the GMTS.
